Snowmobile safari: You drive!

Driving a snowmobile in Kamchatka means more that pleasurable control of a powerful machine: it is also a superb recreational activity packed with meaningful things to see and do. Snowmobile excursion options include trips to such volcanoes as Vilyuchinsky, Gorely, and Avachinsky; to the Nalycheva Valley; and to the Pacific coast. Snowmobile can vary in difficulty as well is in route length, ranging from hours to days.

Number of participants: one to six

Every option includes hot tea, sandwiches, sweets, and even sets of winter clothing for those who had packed lightly.

This technically simple itinerary will take you across some beautiful scenery and is accessible for everyone. An ideal journey for amateurs and those who want to improve their snowmobile-driving skills. Travel to the shores of the world’s biggest ocean!

All beauty of winter’s elements will be for you to marvel at: hulking blocks of ice on the sea-shore and Three Brothers, the rocky icon of Petropavlovsk. Walk on the beach and get charged with life energy stemming from the breath of the Pacific whose magnificent, powerful waves leave nobody unimpressed.

Safari to the Avachinsky volcano and Camel Rock extrusion

Avachinsky is the most iconic volcano of Kamchatka, and we affectionately call it our ‘pet volcano.’ It is also the first thing that the peninsula’s guests see when they arrive here. Accessible by a road which is actually the bed of Dry Creek, gently rising to the base plateau elevated 900 metres above sea level.

The itinerary includes a simple ascent to an extrusion known as Camel Rock wherefrom stunning views of Petropavlovsk and the Avacha Bay can be enjoyed.

Safari to the Nalycheva valley and its hot springs

Nalychevo is a nature park that ranks among the most alluring places for locals and visitors alike. A picture-perfect valley of the river Nalycheva surrounded by active and extinct volcanoes; magnificent Pacific coast; health-bringing thermal and mineral springs; transparent blue glaciers sliding down from fiery summits: this is what makes up the nature park.

This itinerary is more difficult than the above-described two, but it is also much more interesting. Steep passes and volcanic plateaus; endless snow-covered fields and fairy-tale forests of stone birch; and to crown it all, outdoor hot springs fitted with changing-rooms where you can swim at any time of year.

Duration: sunrise to sunset

Price per snowmobile (each seating one or two passengers):
one vehicle and one passenger: 18000 RUB per person;
one vehicles, two passengers: 9000 RUB per person (you will take turns driving).

Prices for all the three itineraries include:

- transfers from Petropavlovsk to snowmobile base and back;
- snowmobile transportation to the kick-off point;
- snowmobile rides themselves;
- a guide accompanying you, driving his own snowmobile;
- hot tea, sweets, sandwiches;
- health insurance.
